CES/SLS Waiver Service Provider
Get to know us!
Respite Essentials, LLC. is a small, family owned company located in Grand Junction, CO. We are a Child Respite Care practice with providers who have special training and skill in providing families and caregivers of children with disabilities temporary relief from their duties. We have personally experienced the alternative programs available for the CES waiver, and we wanted something better. At Respite Essentials, we focus on building relationships, developing children's passions, and helping support families.

What is the CES/SLS Waiver?
The Children's Extensive Support Waiver provides non-medical services to children needing extensive support. The CES waiver helps children and families by providing services and support that help children establish a long-term foundation for community inclusion.
The Supported Living Services Waiver provides necessary services and supports individuals and adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities. The SLS waiver supports individual choice, decision-making, and prioritize unmet needs.

Our Services
We’re committed to helping you every step of the way and providing useful services to take care of all needs. Read below to learn about the range of services we provide. We’re constantly growing and expanding our service options, so if you have something in mind that we don’t yet provide, we’d love to hear about it.
Parent Provider
HCPF recently made it possible for parents to be paid providers for their children. Parents can get paid to provide Homemaker Services and Community Connector Services. The Parent Provider is responsible for offering a nurturing, supportive, and safe environment to children under their care. In addition to the hours a parent may provide, they can still receive services from our providers.
Homemaker
Homemaker services are provided in the home. This role focuses on managing household duties and creating a nurturing and functional living environment for household members. The services include cleaning, light cooking, and other tasks to alleviate the overload for caregivers of children on CES/SLS waivers.
Respite Care Giver
Our Respite Care Givers provide temporary relief and support to parents and primary caregivers, allowing them to take a break while ensuring their loved ones receive proper care. This role involves caring for children and offers temporary support to families and other caregivers by taking over their caregiving responsibilities for a specified period. It's a valuable service that offers much-needed rest and assistance to caregivers.
Youth Services
Similar to Respite Care, however, Youth Services offers children 12 and over the opportunity to receive respite care while their parents work or attend school for up to 10 hours a day. The Youth Service Care Givers are responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating programs and services that engage children and support their educational, social, and personal development.
Community Connector
Community Connectors accompany children on the CES/SLS waiver to a variety of community-based experiences. Community Connectors play a vital role in linking children with services, resources, and opportunities that enhance their well-being and foster a sense of belonging and engagement within the community. This one-on-one time not only allows primary caregivers time without the child, but it also provides life skills and community connections to the children.
Supported Community Connector
Similar to Community Connector but aimed at persons over the age of 18 on the SLS Waiver. Supported Community Connectors focus on aiding individuals with disabilities, seniors, or other vulnerable groups to engage more fully with their community. This role involves linking individuals to necessary services and resources while also supporting their inclusion and active participation in community life.
Massage Therapy
Massage Therapy is used to help with a multitude of different issues facing children and adults with disabilities. A massage therapist is a skilled professional trained in manipulating the muscles and soft tissues of the body to alleviate pain, improve circulation, reduce stress, and promote overall wellness. Many CES/SLS waiver clients use massage therapy to help with sensory overload.
